Creating your wedding page
Walk through the five-step intake wizard to set up your wedding page, names, date, and shareable guest link.
For: Couples
By the end of this guide you'll have a live wedding page, a shareable link you can drop into your invitations, and a draft day-of timeline that you can keep editing right up to the big day.
Before you start
You'll need a NextSet account. If you haven't signed up yet, go to nextset.ca/login and create one — it only takes a minute. Once you're signed in, head to nextset.ca/onboarding/wedding to open the wizard.
The five steps
Step 1 — Your names
Type how you'd like your names to appear: "Madison & Noah", "The Smith-Garcia Wedding", or anything else. A live preview shows exactly how it will look on your wedding projector screen as you type.
This field needs at least two characters to move forward, but there's no right format — write what feels like you.
Step 2 — The date
Pick your wedding date from the calendar.
Don't have a firm date yet? Tick "Not yet scheduled" and continue. You can set or change the date any time from your wedding dashboard after checkout. Nothing is locked in.
Step 3 — Your vision
Describe what you want the day to feel like. Formal? Intimate? High-energy? Traditional? This step is entirely optional — skip it if you'd rather decide later — but a few sentences help NextSet suggest the right style and question-pack in the next two steps.
Step 4 — Style and inspiration
Choose one or more setting chips that match your wedding: Beach, Garden, Barn, Ballroom, Church, Vineyard, City Rooftop, and more. NextSet uses what you wrote in step 3 to pre-tick the most likely options, so you can just confirm or swap them.
Below the chips you'll see a grid of sample moodboard images filtered to your chosen settings. Tap any that match the look you're going for — these carry through to your page's visual theme.
You can also drop in your own mood board files (images, PDFs, audio, or a spreadsheet). Up to ten files, 50 MB each. Uploads are optional and you can always add more from your dashboard later.
Step 5 — Your wedding plan
NextSet generates a flexible day-of timeline based on your date, vision, and style choices. You'll see a draft schedule with ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, first dance, speeches, and more, all pre-timed.
You can drag items around, add new moments, or remove anything that doesn't apply. You're also choosing which interactive question packs to include — NextSet pre-selects based on your vision (for example, a Christian template if you mentioned a church ceremony, or a reception games pack if you mentioned icebreakers). You can pick multiple packs and mix them.
When the plan looks good, click Create my wedding. NextSet saves your event and takes you to checkout.
After checkout
Once your subscription is active, your wedding page is live. You'll land on your wedding dashboard where you can:
- Edit names, date, and timeline at any time
- Invite vendors (photographer, DJ, caterer) so they can add their own timeline items
- Manage RSVPs and song requests as guests start responding
- See the photo wall fill up with guest photos on the day
Finding your shareable guest link
Your guest link is the URL you put in invitations, save-the-dates, and QR codes. To find it:
- Open your wedding dashboard.
- Look for the Share button or the Guest link section — it shows the full URL.
- Copy it, or use the QR code icon to download a scannable code.
The link follows the format nextset.ca/wedding/{your-event-id}. When guests visit it, they land on your live wedding experience where they can RSVP, submit song requests, upload photos, and follow the day's schedule on their phones.
Common problems
Our date is still TBD — can we start anyway? Yes. On step 2, tick "Not yet scheduled" and continue through the wizard. Your page is created without a date. When you have a confirmed date, open your wedding dashboard and update it there. The timeline auto-adjusts.
How do I change our names after we've set up the page? Go to your wedding dashboard, find the names or branding section, and edit the couple names field directly. The change shows up on your page and projector immediately.
Where is the shareable guest link?
Open your wedding dashboard after checkout. The guest link is shown in the Share or Guest link area. It looks like nextset.ca/wedding/{id} and is safe to put on any print or digital invitation. Guests do not need a NextSet account to follow the day or submit song requests.
I uploaded mood board files but I can't see them on my page. Inspiration files attach to your event behind the scenes to inform the style — they don't appear as a public gallery. Your actual photo wall is built from photos guests upload on the day (and from your own uploads in the dashboard).
The wizard won't let me move past a step. Step 1 needs at least two characters for your couple name. Step 2 needs either a date or the "Not yet scheduled" box ticked. All other steps can be skipped with Continue. If Continue is greyed out, check those two fields first.
