Finding your dashboard

How NextSet sends you to the right dashboard for your role, and a quick tour of what each one contains.

For: Everyone

After you sign in, NextSet looks at your account role and takes you straight to the tools you need. You don't have to pick a destination — just go to nextset.ca/dashboard and you'll land in the right place automatically.

How the routing works

When you visit /dashboard, NextSet checks your role and redirects you:

Your role Where you land
Venue owner or manager /dashboard/venue
Band / performer /dashboard/band
Fan, Fan Pro, sound engineer, or promoter /dashboard/fan
Platform admin /admin

The redirect happens within a second or two. You'll see a brief loading spinner while NextSet confirms your session — then you're in.

Your dashboard, by role

Venue dashboard

The venue dashboard is your hub for running events and managing your space. At the top you'll see a quick summary — total events, upcoming shows, whether anything is live right now, and total attendees. From there you can:

  • Create and manage events, rundowns, RSVPs, and song requests
  • Manage your staff and sound engineers
  • Edit your public venue profile
  • Review fan media and finances
  • Adjust timer defaults and notification settings

If an event is live right now, a Live Now banner appears at the top with a direct link to its director controls.

Band dashboard

The band dashboard is where you keep your profile sharp and track your performance history. The home page shows your upcoming gigs, past shows, band members, and merch sales at a glance. From the sidebar you can:

  • Edit your band bio, genres, and profile photo
  • Manage your roster and add members
  • Upload photos and link your streaming profiles (Spotify, YouTube, and more)
  • Browse upcoming gigs and review past shows
  • Plan tours and manage your merch store

Fan dashboard

Fans — including Fan Pro members, sound engineers, and promoters — all share the fan dashboard. The home page shows your Scene Credits balance, weekly earn-and-spend activity, events attended, achievements, and quick links to discover new events, redeem credits, and refer friends.

Your sidebar adapts to what your account can do:

  • All fans see Discover, My Tickets, Favorites, Scene Credits, and Account sections.
  • Fan Pro members also get a My Events section where you can create and manage your own events.
  • Sound engineers get a Sound Engineer section with your assigned events, available job listings, tip earnings, and your personal QR code.
  • Promoters get a Promoter section with campaigns, share links, and earnings.

Admin dashboard

The admin dashboard is only accessible to NextSet platform administrators. It covers the full system — users, venues, artists, events, finances, feature flags, and more. Regular users are redirected away automatically.

Setting a preferred dashboard

If you use NextSet in more than one capacity — for example, you're both a fan and a band member — you can set a preferred dashboard so you always land where you want. Go to your account preferences and choose a default. NextSet will respect that choice every time you sign in.

Common problems

I keep getting sent to /login. Your session has expired. Sign in again and NextSet will redirect you to the right dashboard as usual. Sessions don't last forever, so this is normal after a long gap.

I land on the wrong dashboard. Your dashboard is determined by your account role. If you registered as a fan but expected a venue dashboard, your role may not have been set yet. Check your account settings or contact support at support@nextset.ca — roles can be updated.

I see a spinning loader and nothing happens. This usually means your session is still being confirmed. Wait a few seconds and refresh the page. If it persists, try signing out and back in.

I'm a sound engineer but I don't see the sound engineer tools. Sound engineer features appear in your fan dashboard sidebar, not on a separate page. Look for the Sound Engineer section in the left navigation. If it's missing, your role may not be set — reach out to support.
