A tour of the venue dashboard

Get familiar with every section of the venue dashboard — events, finances, profile, staff, stages, and more.

For: Venue owners and staff

Sign in to NextSet and you land in your venue dashboard — the one place to manage your events, your team, your public profile, and your revenue. This article walks every section so nothing feels unfamiliar on show night.

Getting to your dashboard

Go to nextset.ca, sign in, and NextSet routes you straight to your venue dashboard at /dashboard/venue. If you have a different role selected, click your profile icon and choose Venue Dashboard.

The home page

The first thing you see is your venue's name and city at the top. Below that, four cards give you a quick read on where things stand:

Card What it shows
Total Events Every event you have ever created
Upcoming Events scheduled from today onward
Live Now Events currently running
Total Attendees Cumulative check-ins across all events

Below the stats are three quick-action links: Create Event, Manage Staff, and Stages. These get you moving fast without hunting through the sidebar.

The bottom of the home page shows your upcoming events sorted by date. You can flip the sort order to newest-first or oldest-first using the drop-down at the top right of that list.

The Live Now banner

When one of your events goes live, a bold red banner appears near the top of the home page. It shows the event name and an Open Dashboard button that takes you straight into that event's live controls. The banner is not there unless an event is actually running — it appears automatically when you start a show and disappears when it ends.

The Fan QR Code

In the top right of the home page, a Fan QR Code button reveals a scannable code linked to your public venue page. Put this on a poster, bar menu, or screen at your venue. When fans scan it they land on your public page and can follow you for event updates.

The sidebar sections

The sidebar groups everything into four collapsible sections. Each section can be collapsed and re-expanded — your preference is saved between visits.

Events

Page What you do here
All Events Browse, filter, and manage every event. You can sort by status, soft-delete events, and jump into any event's settings.
Create Event Build a new event — name, date, performers, rundown, ticket settings.

Inside each event you have sub-pages for the rundown, RSVPs, fan photos, polls and Q&A, song requests, and vendor assignments.

Venue

Page What you do here
Profile Edit your public venue page — description, photos, social links, and visibility.
Stages Define named stage areas inside your venue (e.g. Main Stage, Patio Stage).
Staff Invite team members and assign them roles — directors, sound engineers, door and bar staff.

Finances

Revenue shows your income overview — ticket sales and event revenue in one place. Use it to track how shows are performing over time.

Settings

Page What you do here
Notifications Choose which alerts you receive and how.
Settings General venue configuration: public profile toggle, booking options, timezone, admin email, and timer defaults (set/changeover/intermission durations). This page also has the venue deletion option if you ever need it.

A typical pre-show workflow

  1. Open Create Event and fill in the details.
  2. Go into the event's rundown and add your performers in order with their set lengths.
  3. Share the event link or QR code with your audience.
  4. On show night, open the event's Director view to run the timer and control the screens.

The director view is separate from the dashboard — you get to it from the event, not from the sidebar.

Common problems

"Venue Not Found" message instead of the dashboard. Your account is not linked to a venue yet. You either need to claim an existing venue from the public directory or create a new one. If you were invited as staff, ask the venue owner to send you a fresh staff invitation.

The Live Now banner is missing even though my event is running. The banner only appears when an event has been started from the director controls. If the event is set to UPCOMING but the timer has not been started, the home page will not show the banner. Open the event's director view and start the show — the banner appears within a few seconds.

I can't see the Staff or Stages pages. These are in the VENUE section of the sidebar. If that section is collapsed, click the section header to expand it.

My event list is empty. You have not created any events yet, or all your events have been soft-deleted. Use Create Event to add your first one.
